Q: Do you have to be a member to use the clubhouse?

A: Yes. However, you are welcome to join us a couple of times for free before signing up and paying your Membership Fees.

Q: How much does membership cost?

A: £40 per year. This allows you to use the clubhouse at any time.

Q: Are you an open water training club?

A: We can’t support training through coaching, safety boats, etc. But we do have members who compete, including a couple of Channel swimmers. We can help you think about this aspect when you call in.

Q: Do members wear wetsuits?

A: Most of our members don’t wear wetsuits, though this isn’t a rule, and some do, particularly in the winter!

Q: What facilities do you have at the clubhouse?

A: Our charming 1950s clubhouse offers female and male changing rooms, showers, bike storage and a large communal space for pre and post swim socialising with a galley kitchen for preparation of hot drinks (with biscuits and cake!) paid for through donations.

Q: Do you organise the New Years’ Day Swim?

A: No. Though we do swim on New Years’ Day. The traditional mass swim is not currently officially organised by anyone.

Q: How is the club organised?

A: We are currently a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).
